The search for the perfect location for your engagement shoot can be overwhelming. Today, I’m sharing photographers’ secrets for the best locations that combines Old World beauty and adventurous, epic outdoor locations in Toronto, and southern Ontario. These are my absolute favorite locations for engagement shoots.
1. Osgoode Hall
Osgoode Hall is my favorite location in downtown Toronto because it has a cobblestone courtyard, manicured gardens, and its Georgian architecture never goes out of style. It’s also accessible by subway at Osgoode Station. Osgoode Hall is opened to the public, and no permit is required.
2. Rattlesnake Point
Rattlesnake Point is the perfect location for epic cliff views. I love that there are also dense forests, and open fields. The public park in Hamilton, Ontario is accessible to the public.
3. Cherry Avenue Farms
If you love cherry blossoms, Cherry Avenue Farms is overflowing with blooming orchard trees in the spring. A permit is required, and the farm located in Vineland, Ontario is private property.
4. Scarborough Bluffs
Who doesn’t love a white sand beach accessible in Toronto? I love the Scarborough Bluffs for a sunrise engagement shoot. The location is open to the public.
The Sandbanks Beach in Prince Edward County is the absolute best for sprawling white sand beaches, and clear blue water. It looks like the Caribbean. The beach is open to the public.
6. Rosewood Winery
Rosewood is one of the rare wineries with rolling hills of vines, gorgeous ponds, with a lavender field coming soon. The historic winery located in Beamsville, Ontario is perfect for engagement, family, or wedding photos.
7. Scotsdale Farm
My own photoshoot to celebrate my 30th birthday was held at Scotsdale Farm in Halton Hills, Ontario. I loved the open fields, and mature trees. (images by When He Found Her)
Bonus: Dundurn Castle, and Rockwood Conservation.
Dundurn Castle is literally a castle in Hamilton perfect for engagement photos, and have recently become a wedding venue. In addition, Rockwood Conservation literally looks like ruins from the Game of Thrones, perfect for that mysterious, elegant rustic backdrop.
